LGBT Social Groups and Organizations in Albuquerque

TrumanPrideAlbuquerque is proud to be an LGBT-friendly city – and there are plenty of community resources and groups working to create a support network for our area’s gay population. Whether you’re looking for affiliates working toward a common goal or just need a safe space to meet new people, here are a few organizations worth checking out:

PFLAG Albuquerque – Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) is a national organization with a branch here in Albuquerque. Its goal is to build community, increase awareness, and start dialogues about sexual orientation and gender identity.

Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico – A general resource for support, education, and assistance for the trans* community and their families/loved ones.

Albuquerque U21 – A safe space and social meet-up location for LGBT youth and allies under the age of 21. The social group offers lots of activities for the city’s younger LGBT crowd, including films, dances, workshops, crafts, and more.

Prime Timers New Mexico – Part of the larger Prime Timers Worldwide, this is an organization for socializing, friendship, support and personal growth for mature and aging bisexual men.

New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus – A true “voice” for the LGBT community, and an opportunity to sing and perform at a variety of events and occasions.

SAGE – An organization that focuses on services and advocacy for LGBT elders.

This is just a small sampling of the many community resources and organizations available in the city. You can find even more here, or ask around at UNM Truman Health Center – you’re bound to find a club or group that shares your interests or help you with a particular cause!
