Support Groups for HIV-Positive Men

Men in the GLBTQ community have a higher risk factor for HIV infection than any other group nationwide. At UNM Truman Health Services, you can SPEAK with confidence about living with HIV. Our men’s support group Sharing Positive Experiences, Attitudes, and Knowledge (SPEAK) discusses the challenges and victories of living with HIV in Albuquerque. At SPEAK, you will always be met with compassion, support, and positivity.

SPEAK meets the 4th Wednesday of every month from 5-6PM at our medical offices.

Support Groups for HIV-Positive Women

Get involved and share your HIV experience with other women who share your diagnosis. Women OUTloud is UNM Truman’s support group for women who are living with HIV in the Albuquerque area. Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been living with HIV for a long time, Women OUTloud listens with compassion and offers support when it is needed most.

Women OUTloud meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 4-5PM at our medical offices in Albuquerque.

Smoking Cessation Groups

HIV-positive individuals struggling with cigarette addiction can find motivation and support at our smoking cessation support groups. Our mentors can recommend tools and tips to help you get your body healthy and live a life without tobacco.

Exercise Support Groups

If you are living with HIV, exercise is an essential tool to enhance your physical and emotional health. UNM Truman Health Services can connect you with an exercise support group that will help you make exercise part of your routine. Our exercise support groups are uniquely sensitive to the needs of HIV-positive individuals.
