UNM Truman Health Services was founded in 1985. Our NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home continues to offer the highest level of care and the latest treatment options for New Mexicans living with HIV, gender services, and PrEP

HIV screening is recommended for all sexually active adults and others at risk . Free rapid HIV testing is available at our health center, in addition to multiple locations throughout the Albuquerque community.

Judgment-Free HIV/Stage 3 (AIDS) Treatment Services

At UNM Truman Health Services, we believe that medical services should be free from prejudice, intrusions, and judgments regarding sexual orientation or gender identity. Our medical professionals are sensitive to the unique needs of people living with HIV/Stage 3 (AIDS) and the GLBTQ community.

Behavioral Health Services

UNM Truman Health Services proudly offers a full range of behavioral health care for people living with HIV/Stage 3 (AIDS). Patients have access to neuropsychological assessments, counseling, psychiatric therapy, and substance use treatment and referrals.

Specialized Health Services

At UNM Truman, we practice patient-centered medicine that promotes physical health and personal well-being. Our patients have access to complementary Alternative therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractic and physical medicine, and massage therapy.

UNM Truman Health Services also provides a full range of support services that aid in a comprehensive spectrum of HIV care. Support services include medical case management, financial services (eligibility determination), and specialized support groups.

New Mexico GLBTQ Community Involvement

We are involved in the GLBTQ community. We are the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 OUTstanding Medical Partner in Albuquerque (presented by Albuquerque Pride) and are involved in local events, including the HIV Walk New Mexico & 5K Run, Healthy Living Fair, PRIDEFest and the Albuquerque Pride Parade, and World AIDS Day. We are partners with Albuquerque Pride, First Nations Community Healthsource, New Mexico AIDS Service (NMAS)s, the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH), New Mexico Transgender Resource Center, the New Mexico AIDS Education and Training Center (NMAETC), SAGE and Southwest Care Centers.
